Alongside our Alliance partners, we have been working to making a lasting difference to the market town of Wisbech for more than five years.
Located just 40 miles from Cambridge, Wisbech faces a number of challenges, but also has huge potential for growth and development. The vision has grown from grassroots community work into a proposal for a new garden town with 10,000 homes. The vision will bring better transport links, more jobs and improved health, education and skills training for local people.
By concentrating our efforts in a single town, we believe we can make a lasting difference to people’s lives. This guide sets out our collaborative approach for other organisations to use
10 years with the College of West Anglia. We’ve run construction and engineering courses at the Wisbech Campus. Since 2022, 72 apprentices have joined our alliances through the programme.
£2 million for green skills. In 2024, Anglian Water and its Alliance partners provided £2 million to fund a new Green Skills Academy in Wisbech.
Backing Wisbech Community Farm. We supported its development in 2019 and we’ve stayed close friends ever since, taking on regular volunteering projects.
Active in local networks. We work with groups including the Ferry Project, Wisbech Museum and Golden Age.
